Volunteering and Community Service

You can help people and learn valuable skills

As a high school student, volunteering and community service can both enrich your life and benefit your future. You'll learn valuable skills while you help people in your community. You can choose a group or organization that matches your interests. You'll be gaining experience, learning leadership skills and helping people at the same time. When it comes time to apply to college, having volunteering and community service on your application as an extracurricular activity shows that your willing to put in that extra effort to make the world a better place. It might be the thing that sets you apart from other applicants to help you get into the college or university of your choice. A great resource is the Volunteer Center at the United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona. Click on the logo!
